Ohio River Valley
This started the 7 Years War. The competition for the Ohio River Valley. The British was trying to push out the French because they needed more land and since they tried to push them out the French were attacking British colonists and setting fire to their homes. -
Economic Interests
The British sent troops to take French forts and also started to attack merchant ships for the French carrying 3000 troops and supplies. They attacked so the British could weaken the French and have some advantage over the French. -

Seven Years War
The Seven Years War is a war that lasted 7 years between the French and the British fighting to survive and conquer. -
Capture of Fort Duquesne and Louisbourg
After the competition the British decided to start capturing French forts to weaken them. In 1758 they captured Fort Louisbourg and Fort Duquesne. -
Defeat of Quebec City
After the Acadian Expulsion (a large part in out Canadian history) the British closed down the French and tried to take down the Quebec City but couldn't so Wolfe (a leader for the British) had to choose a different plan. So in the night they climbed a cliff to sneak attack the French and Quebec City fell down. -
Battle of Plains of Abraham and French Surrender
Despite the victory against Quebec City, Wolfe died on the Battle of the Plains of Abraham against the French with the French commander Montcalm. After this the British moved on to Montreal to fight to take over it. French and British were both waiting for reinforcements from Europe ships to come in. There was a ship that came and was for the British. The French surrendered giving the British control over New France. -
End of Seven Years War
In 1763 after the French surrender the Treaty of Paris was signed to end the Seven Years War between the French and the British. French had to give up all of its main territory claims in North America to the British.
