Petition of Right
Parlament met in 1628 and created a list of 'demands' that parlament felt should be met by the king. This included imprisonment without cause cannot happen anymore along with taxes could not be created and collected on the spot without the support of parlament. By doing this the monarchs power was limited severely as they could no longer do as they pleased. https://www.loc.gov/exhibits/magna-carta-muse-and-mentor/images/mc0018_enlarge.jpg -

King James II Leaves England
King James II strived to be an absolute ruler so when he was driven out there was a chance for something new to be set and there was. James barely ever called on parlement and when he did it, even when his reqeust was turned down he did what he wanted anyway. By driving him out it made it more apparent that England wanted a limited monarchy. https://oldcurrencyexchange.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/james-ii-king-of-england-scotland-ireland.jpg -

Sir Robert Walpole
Even though Sir Robert Walpole was not a monarch he did play a large role in government. Walpole was under the rule of king George I and his support was under the House of Commons. The king letting this happen shows that there was an acceptance of not having absolute power which was good for the people who did not want an absolute monarchy. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sir_Robert_Walpole_(NYPL_Hades-265503-478630).tiff
