The Terry Fox run in April 12, 1980, was very important to everyone who was suffering from cancer, and still a big thing for everyone who wasn't. He ran to raise awareness for cancer, and to raise money for a cure. He started in St. John's Newfoundland, and ended in Thunder Bay, Ontario as the cancer has reached his lungs. -
Nunavut Separated
On April 1st, 1999, Nunavut separated from the Northwest territories to become officially a new territory of Canada. -
9/11 Terrorist Attacks
On September 11th, 2001 hijacked planes purposefully crashes into the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon. An estimated 2,606 people died. -
Canada in Afghanistan
In late 2001 Canadian armed forces were in Afghanistan to remove the Taliban from power. In 2011 they helped with helping the country from poverty, they trained them how to run in elections, and a democratic government, built more roads, and improving heath education and communications. -
