Out of the Hospital
I was born October 8, 2001, at 6 months at 1lb and 9oz. All the doctors had thought that I wouldn't have made it being so tiny, therefore I was in the incubator for the next three months, when I eventually had gotten out of the hospital I weighed 5 lbs. Later my mom had almost lost her life that day because she had gotten a clot after surgery, and she could not move she was quickly brought to surgery and put in the ICU the next couple of days, the doctors had called us miracles. -
She's gone but still in my heart
I remember exactly in my mind on how it went my mother tells me otherwise but thats my memory . I was three years old and it was a sunny morning I was sitting on the living room couch next to my mother while she was breastfeeding my little sister I was sitting in my wiggles pajamas when 3 of my uncles had come in to the house to tell us the bad news that my grandmother had died from a heart attack in Guatemala. When I had heard the news I fell to the ground and balled my eyes out. -
Moving to Brewster
Moving to Brewster might was tough but I dealt with it, I thought I wasn't gonna make any friends because I was a very shy kid. As the first day came all the kids were super nice and friendly. I missed my friends at Mathew Patterson but I made great friends here aswell the school is great and so are the teachers I have been in brewster since the 2nd Grade and I am so greatful to be a part of this community. -
Meeting My Long Time Best Friends
These girls have gotten me through the past 11 years and I am super grateful, they have been there through my ups and downs. We have had so many laughs and fights, we are all from the same background which has gotten us so much closer, we hang out all the time and always make time for each other. When we get depressed we are there to support each other and listen to our problems, Emely and Vanessa are my best friends and I am super appreciative of them. -
My Long Lost Sibling
My Brother Carlos is 26 and he is my best friend, I first met him when I was 10, he had come from Guatemala when he was 19, Carlos is my dad's son, and my parents had never told me and my younger sister that we had another sibling, so when he first had come here they had introduced him as my Uncle Mario because they didn't want us to know yet but during the time he was our uncle we have gotten super close, we annoy each other all the time, and I love that we get along so well. -
My First Time to Guatemala
My first time traveling on a plane and my first time leaving the country, was exciting and scary. Guatemala is a beautiful country but where my grandparents live there is no internet service and less technology and I would like to say I love it like that, going to Guatemala is always refreshing, hanging out with family walking to delis and making fresh tortillas and homemade food every day is the best. Going there we get to live life to the fullest having the best time of my life. -
My Quinceanera
Turning 15 in the Latino community is a big event for all girls, a day to feel special and to show the world that you have become a woman. A Quince is a big party, including the surprise dance, el baile de muneca, and the tiara. My Quince was the best day, the people part of my court made the day extra special I had a great time dancing with all my family and friends. All these events show your invites that you are growing up and are able to become more independent. -
Celso Salguero
I had lost my grandpa, I found out while in math class, my cousin had posted something on snapchat and when I found it was true I had gone to the bathroom to sob, I called my parents and my mother could not even speak to me because she was in shock. My grandpa lived in Guatemala and had died from Pneumonia, that exact same day my parents had told me that they had booked a flight and leave to Guatemala. We got to Guatemala in the middle of the day and was there for the funeral. -
My First Job
My First Job is currently still at Brewster Pastry, I was very excited to work here because baking and pastry making is my passion when I first started, I began in the front of the store helping out the manager with filling up all the cases but eventually was put in the back where I started to clean, I sometimes would learn and help do a couple of recipes and doughs, I learned how to properly scale and now after a year working, I bake and make a tons of different recipes with the owner -
Dream Vacation
As a little girl, I've always wanted to go to California, When my parents told me we were going I was so excited, on the first day I had met David Dobrik and Alex Ernst and I was so excited. California is a nice state with a lot of attractions, We had gone to the Santa Monica Pier and Hollywood walk of fame. This was the best vacation because I had spent the whole time with my family visiting movie attractions and staying at the Roosevelt Hotel. -
My FaceTime with Blake Lively
When I was able to facetime Blake I freaked out, My mom works for Martha Stewart and she had been working at a party at her house and my sister accompanied her, my sister had told me that Blake was there and I freaked out in the car on my way back from work I had asked my sister if she could put her on the facetime call and she did, she had said hello, how are you and we had a three minute conversation. This was a crazy day because I had just worked 10 hours and she had made my day.
