-Aims: To affirm sexuality rights in M’sia, empower individuals & communities of all sexualities, and to create platforms for advocacy of sexuality rights.
-Talks, lectures, forums, workshops, theatre and music performances, interactive installations & film screenings.
-Attracted a crowd of approx 1000 people -
We are family!
October 13-17
-Aim: To celebrate the spirit of family, and to promote families’ and communities’ roles in embracing diversity.
-Art project, forum theatre, film screening, music performance, lectures, talks & presentations. -
Queer without fear!
November 1-13
-Organised a major longitudinal event, comprising of forums, talks, workshops, book launches, art exhibitions and performances.
-More than 20 sponsors; including Amnesty International and the Malaysian Bar Council.
-On the 3rd of November, Seksualiti Merdeka was declared illegal by the police.
-All activities were thereafter called off by the organisers. -
The ban of Seksualiti Merdeka
Seksualiti Merdeka was banned by the local police force when the campaign is in the midst of running. All activities were thereafter cancelled.
