The Education Minister, R.A. Butler produced the act to provide free secondary education for all pupils.
Three types of school: grammar, secondary modern and technical
Students were appointed based on their grades from the 11+ exams.

In 2001, the government introduced Curriculum 2000 which split the A-level into two parts, the AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and A2 examinations.
Completing both As and A2 gains the pupil an A Level. -

Allowed schools to easily convert into academies. -
A* Grade Added To A Level
A* grade was introduced to separate the top students -
English Baccalaureate (EBacc)
It measures how many pupils can gain a grade C or above in core academic subjects. -
The Co-operative Academy At Brownhills

The Co-operative Academy Of Stoke-on-Trent
The school did another name change for a fresh start and to be more like the other C-operative academies. -
New Academy Building
In year 10 we were moved to a new building that cost £23 million!!! -
Leaving Age Raised To 17
in 2013 the leavng age was raised to 17 and then in 2015 it was raised to 18. -

In the first year I completed As Levels and then did A2 Levels. -
