    Nine black boys who lived in Alabama are hoping to find jobs in Memphis, Tennessee. They were called the Scottosboro Boy. The ages of the boys ranged from thirteen to twenty years old. They all hopped on a freight train traveling to Memphis.

    As the boys are on the train, a white man steps on one of the boy's hand. A fight breaks out; the nine boys verses seven white men. Also on the train, were two white girls named Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. During all the chios, the two girls run off the train and complain to the police that the black boys tried to rape them. cite:

    The Scottsboro boys are crowded around over 100 people. This was happening in front of Scottsboro jail. The boys were nearly lynched but esacaped the mob before it could happen. However, they are railroaded into convictions and death sentences. cite:

    The grand jury offically accuses the nine boys for rapping the two girls. The boys are innocent but the jury says they are gulity. The boys are sent to jail and don't know how long they are going to be in it. cite:

    Trials start to begin. Before Judge A. E. Hawkins came apart of this, eight of the boys were tried, convicted, and sentenced to death. This was all because we are gulity for convicting a crime that they didn't even do. cite:

    The youngest one, Roy Wright was held for a trial. His trial ended in a mistrial when some jurors hold out for a death sentence even though the prosecution asked for life imprisonment. cite:

    The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the International Labor Defense (ILD) try to have the right to represent the Scottsboro Boys and defend them. cite:

    One of the white girls that claimed the Scottsboro Boys rapped them came into the trial. In a letter she wrote to Earl Streetman denying that she got rapped. Ruby's letter is in this link:

    In the Alabama Supreme Court, seven defendants voted. With the outcome being 6-1, they granted one the boys, Eugene Williams for a new trial because he was a juvenile at the time of his conviction. Now, the United States Supreme Court agrees to hear the case. cite:

    Ruby Bates comes back to the court by surprise. She states that she never been raped or assulted. She also says that she was with her friend Victoria the whole train ride and never had contact with any of the boys. cite:

    Another one of the boys, Haywood Patterson has been through four trials. He was tried for rape, convicted and has been sentenced to a death. The judge set it aside to start a new trial. At the fourth trial, he was convicted of rape and was sentenced to 75 years of prison. cite:

    Many of the boys are becoming guilty and being sent off the jail for mulitple years. Clarence Norris was sentenced to death. Andy Wright was sentenced to 99 years in jails. Charlie Weems was sentenced for 75 years in jail. And Ozzie Powell was guilty for assaulting a sheriff and was sentenced for 25 years in jail. cite:

    Two of the boys, Andy Wright and Clarence Norris are realeased from jail on parole. They both leave Alabama even though they weren't suppose to. It was inviolation of their parole. Because of them not returning to the South, they were put back into jail. cite:

    Victoria Price files a law suit aganist NBC. She does this because they are invating her privacy after the broadcast of Judge Horton and The Scottsboro Boys. However, her claim was dismissed. cite:

    Throughout this big crazy trial, many of the boys died of cancer or just because of their age. The last Scottosboro Boy to die was Clarence Norris. He was 76 years old. cite:
