Scientist RAFT

  • Antoine Lavoisier

    Antoine Lavoisier
Born in 1743 in France, and he died in 1794. He came up with the modern system for naming chemicals. Antoine Lavoisier found the chemical reactivity of oxygen.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
He came up with Daltons atomic theory. He was also responsible for creating the scientific method. He was also a teacher. He was born in 1766, England, and died in 1844.
  • Max Planck

    Max Planck
He was born in 1858, Germany. He was the originator of quantum theory. He found Planck’s Constant. Planck also came up with the Quantum theory. He died in 1947.
  • Marie Curie

    Marie Curie
She was born in 1867, Poland. She discovered Polonium and Radium in 1898. She was the first woman to win the Nobel prize and she won it twice. She also worked with x-rays during WWI. She died in 1934
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford ran the Gold Foil Expirement. He found that there was a nucleus in a atom. He shot particles at atoms and observed how the particles bounced off. He found that atoms were mostly made of space. He was born in 1871, New Zealand, and he died in 1937.
  • Albert Einstein.

    Albert Einstein.
Albert Einstein was born in 1879, Germany. He worked on the EPR experiment. He also worked with the theory that random information is nonlocal. He also created the unified field theory. He died in 1955.
  • Niels Bohr

    Niels Bohr
He came up with the Bohr model. This model was a way to draw/observe atoms and their electrons. This model is still used today. He also worked on the Atomic Bomb. He was born in 1885, Denmark. He died in 1962.
  • James Chadwick.

    James Chadwick.
James Chadwick was born in 1891, England. He bombarded Beryllium with alpha particles from the natural radioactive decay of Polonium. With this experiment, he was able to discover the electron. He died in 1974.
