Vesalius was born in 1514 in the Netherlands. He wrote one of the most important books on human anatomy, "De humani corporis fabrica." Descartes was born in La Haye in 1595. He was educated at a Jesuit college. He published many books about mathematics and created many mathematic laws. He eventually died in Stockholm in 1650.

Francis Bacon, Lord Chancellor of England: 1561-1626
Bacon was born in 1626 in London. He was son of Nicolas Bacon, Lord Keeper of the Seal of Elisabeth. At the mere age of 12, he entered Trinity College Cambridge.
