Scientific Revolution Timeline

  • 1200

    Continumum of the rebirth (Renaissance)

Roger Bacon changed the way people thought about the world. He changed the way that people thought, he wreck the train of thought people had on life. Because people can now see that you dont just have to believe everything you are told. You CAN question, and you can experiment. You're allowed to change the way that you are thinking, and you cant build of off your own ideas not something ancient. You can have your own voice in history, like all these men and many more due to Roger Bacon.
  • 1200

The beginning of the questions and the curiosity

In 1200 is where we start from moving away from all this magic talk to scientific movement. Although back 2,000 years there have been people like the for example Aristotle a Greek Philosopher. He was a Alchemist, using ¨spells and magic formulas¨ to change substances into others. For example, lead to gold. There were many who seeked answers, like Astrologers with the skies lineaments.
  • 1200

    Roger Bacon

    Roger Bacon
Bacon was a English philosopher and a scientist of the 1200s. Some background information on Bacon is that he was a monk. He favored a system or reasoning of scientific explanations and experimentation. Rather than your typical religious man, having faithful acceptance of religious ideas and old beliefs. Some people felt freer due to being able to question all these old ideas and beliefs they're forced to follow. More people approached finding answers to all these mysteries, and questions.
  • 1473

    Nicolaus Copernicus

    Nicolaus Copernicus
Nicolaus was a mathematician He is best known for his theory called heliocentric solar system, a system in which the planets and other planetary objects orbit the sun. I think that he challenged our way of thinking because no we had to wait years for a space ship to be created so that we could prove this theory right or wrong. I think that what he did was pretty important because without it how would we know whats our there. How would we know where to start with our discoveries or questions.
  • 1500

    Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek

    Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek
Antoni discovered a cell thats very important to use now in days, well scientist at the very least. He studies bacteria in other words. Which is very important because new bacteria are being found all the time, the possibilities are endless when it comes to finding new bacteria's. Antoni was the beginning of that chain, but I think that he definitely brought a challenge to the world, because the started things he gave us the guidelines but we had to go out and search for our selves.
  • 1543

    Andreas Vesalius and William Harvey

    Andreas Vesalius and William Harvey
Both of these men made a big change in the world because they studied how our bodies worked. They were first on figuring out that every single body part or organ has a function and they were the ones that tested that. Due to their life span, they didn't exactly live long enough to be able to discover it all but now in our generation we have and we know already what is going on in our body at all times and we already know how blood and every organ is connected which is all very important to know.
  • 1546

    Tycho Brahe

    Tycho Brahe
I do believe that Tycho has done things just as the rest of these men and he has just as much as right as all these men to be mentioned and thought of highly. But I don't exactly see why, looking and what the biggest thing that he is known for which is technically looking for more information of information that someone else got. For example, he is most known most for backing up Nicolaus in his model of heliocentric. Which isnt really a reason for me or any millennial to learn about him.
  • 1564

    Galileo Galilei

    Galileo Galilei
He discovered 4 of Jupiter moons, and he was the first one to look at the moon through a telescope and make first astronomy discovery. I think that he did challenge. People presented more and more discovers about moons and planets due to Galileo's job and we continue to. I think that this is a significant event because its very important our astrology is important.
  • 1571

    Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler
Johannes did exactly what Copernicus did, but he elaborated more of the theory of where and how the planet are aligned. He didn't exactly challenge any one in the future, and in my opinion I dont think he did such. Because he just elaborated more an what other men before him did. Its not his own personal work there fore you can't exactly get that information out.
  • Rene Descartes

    Rene Descartes
The reason why I think that Rene is actually a challenge isnt because of what he did but how its affecting us in the future. For example, he discovered how to use algebra on geometrical problems. We still use it now in days of course but that doesnt mean that it just disappear. Plus he is the only man that has done something that hasn't changed over the years for example you cant exactly expect philosophies not to change from person to person on the internet but you cant change math problems.
  • Robert Boyle

    Robert Boyle
Boyle is best known for his law on the relationship between the absolute pressure and volume of a gas, I think that this is absolutely something that created challenge for us in the future and I think that a good event that ties us with this would just be a regular scientist, to be one you have to obviously know your pressures and volumes or else you would get hurt.
  • Issac Newton

    Issac Newton
Out of all the men, I think that many can agree that Issac is definitely one of the most important and significant people who are apart of the Scientific Revolution. He discovered many things, and he invented endless of things that still today we are in use of them. Talking about one of his most important changes to the world thats still in action to this day, the three laws of motion and the color spectrum. Both of which are significant due to how we see these both in use on a day to day bases.
  • Robert Hooke

    Robert Hooke
This man is a big change to the world, he was a challenge. Because it was our job us in the future to continue this. To continue discovering and searching. This is significant to events in history because we discovered that there are things in everything. That we just can't see. We now know what leaves are made out of, what kind of things make leaves so rough things like that because of this man.
  • Joseph Priestly and Antoine Lavoisier

    Joseph Priestly and Antoine Lavoisier
The reason why these two men are put together because mainly in other words that were working together. Joesph discovered oxygen although he left it at that. Vs on the other hand Antoine took it to the next level, he named it because Priestly hadnt exactly done that but he also discovered hydrogen and created his own theory. But he is also known for finding out oxygen com busts. I think that these two men changed things because technically Antoine was the beginning of the periodic table
  • Andre Mari Ampere

    Andre Mari Ampere
I think that with the amount of work and thought that it must have take Andre to come up with his discovering, I think that he absolutely struggled in getting to the results that he wanted. I think he wanted to challenge both him and the future is they could possibly figure out more of it them usual he used math and laws and a whole bunch of other things. Electromagnetism, isnt something that you normally would hear on a day to day bases so on significance I wouldn't really know what to say,
  • Cesare Beccaria

    Cesare Beccaria
Beccaria is the first who wrote "Crimes And Punishments". Which was a "very noted essay" that he has written due to him being in his little society with his friends "Academy of fist". He published it all anonymously due to fearing of getting hated on for his work, Beccaria and his society built up the justice system, which we still use today. I think that Beccaria challenged us in the future, the world. Because now in days "justice" isn't a word you hear often just "unfairness".
  • Auguste Comte

    Auguste Comte
This man is who gave socicology a push into the world. This many rejected the religious beliefs instead he focused on studying something called he called sociology. He improved the way that we are built together now. I think that he changed the way that we are living, no so much as challenged. He believed that the society should be opearated under its own laws and regulations. The significance is that without the laws of society we have now, we could turn out to be very twisted people.
