When he lived in Germany he was a potato farmer that earned 300 dollars off selling his crop to someone and put a down payment for his first store from his father and then named it after himself. -
Adding Sporting Goods
In 1954 Mr. Scheel decided to expand the stores product and add sporting goods to the store. -
Headquarters Location
The reason they chose north Dakota was they had 3 stores in a very small area including 2 super stores. -
Stock Market
In 1968 the schools store added stock to their store. Their stores are located in 13 states and have over 6,000 employees -
First Superstore
First store that had hunting gear, sporting goods, clothing, and a few minor food options inside the store. -
Expanding The Company
In December of 2012 the company decided to expand into Overland Park which is the closest location to us. It is one of their biggest stores they own. -
The Newest Addition
In Texas the scheel family plans to add its newest expansion of the company in Texas in April 2020
