More then 20,000 parisians died from diseases mostly cholera. People had increased the amount of sewage in the rivers. Cholera was slowly kill more people the more sewage they dump. -
Making of a sewer sytem
Londons board of health eliminated cesspools to clean water. That made London the first city in the world to have a sewer system.They started regulating sewage and how much of it was coming. -
Spread in disease
Water and other nasty stuff was sitting on the streetsand was slowly moving into the water. All of the nasty stuff made many diseases like cholera and typhoid. By this time it was reacurring more and more often. -

This made companies move their intakes upstream so it didnt have to travel that far. Filtration and storage was another thing that they had to watch. That made drinking water improve but there was still 260 tons of sweage they had to deal with. -
Creation of drainage system
They were going to make a certral drianage but they put it off for medical science. It took over 16 year to make and complete. The person who made it was named Joseph Bazalgette. -
Smog cover
All cities came to a complete stop no one could drive or go outside. There was some much smog int the air it made it hard for people to breath 4000 people died from that in London. This was one of the biggest air pollutions at that time.
