Abigail Williams and Betty Paris were first bewitched along with a couple of other girls. They were screaming and rolling on the floor. -

The girls began pointing fingers at other towns people. They had blamed - Rebecca Nurse (gentle grandmother and a Church goer) - A wealthy farmer - 4 year old girl
More than 150 people were in jail by spring. -
The First Accused
The pressure was mounting on the girls and the towns people were begging the children to tell them the names of their torturers. The girls had screamed out three names

All of these women were social outcasts. -
The Trials Begin
Over the next month, 20 people were hung (including the pastor). A man was pressed under rocks and four others had died in jail. -
