Sacagewea is captured by the Hidatsa warriors at the age of 12 for trespassing with her tribe for hunting baffalo on their territory.

Sacagewea marries a fur trapper named Toussiant.

The Journey Starts

Oct 27, 1804

The Lewis and Clark expedition (Corps of Discovery),reach her tribe and she and her husband leave with them and join the corps.

Baby

Feb 11, 1805

Sacagewea's baby is born, and named Jean Baptise

Trading

Aug 17, 1805

The Corps reaches her birth-tribe and they trade for horses and supplies with Sacagewea as a translator.

Back home

Apr 11, 1806

The Corps are on their return journey and Sacagewea and her husband and baby stays with the Hidastas

Apr 11, 1811

Sacagewea moves to St. Lewis and leaves Jean with Clark.

Death

Dec 20, 1814

Sacagewea dies at the age of 25 because of high fever at Ft. Manuel.
