Japan invades Manchuria
The Japanese Kwangtung army put the attack on the Chinese in Manchuria in an event commonly known as the Manchuria incident. The Japanese empire easily over powering china won the battle. The japanese empire was looking to gain control over the entire province. This was so that they could encompass all of east Asia. This came to be one of the causes for the start of World War II. -
Treaty of Cooperation
On october 25, 1936, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy signed a treaty of cooperation. This would later come to form an axis power, The allies were not present at the time but would later enter the war in order to stop the axis power that the Nazi and Fascist party had created. The Nazi's would be led by Hitler, while the Fasists were led by Mussolini. Both leaders shared the same intentions. -
The announcement of the axis powers
The announcement of the Rome-Berlin axis power came on November 1, 1936. This power came as result of the treaty of cooperation that had been signed previously. With the announcement of this power World War II really kicked into gear. This axis power was considered a serious threat, to most countries around the world. -
Italy's entry to the war
Italy officially entered the war on June 1, 1940. Their first move was the invasion of southern france. They were to take care of the southern boarder, as the northern was being taken care of. Italy came into the war as a very strong force, and was very succesful in their early attempts. Their leader Mussolini was fearless and not worried to enter war against any other country. -
Tripartite Pact.
The Date that the Tripartite Pact was signed was signed was September 27, 1940. It was an agreement between Germany, Italy, and Japan to fight as allies in the war. This is a very powerful alliance. This pact causes the axis powers to be even more of a threat to other countries. -
Pearl Harbor
On December 7, 1941 the Japanese bombed the united states base at pearl harbor. This was a horrible attack killing so many U.S. citizens. There isn't much reasoning behind the attack considering that the U.S. was nuetral at the time of the attack. Following the attack the United States would join the war and fight on the side of the allies against the axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan. The entry of the united states would only make the war more intense. -
U.S. Entry
The U.S. did not sit back and take the attack from Japan. They declared war on japan launching them straight into the war on the side of the allied powers. The U.S.did not intend on joining another world war until they were bombed for no reason by the Japanese at their base in pearl harbor.The war was now much more intense, as both sides grew with countries supporting them. -
D-day
British and U.S. troops succesfully land on the Normandy beaches of France. This opens a second front against the Germans. Many American soldiers were lost in the D-day invasion. It did however gain a serious advantage for the allies on the german fronts. -
End of Hitler
Hitler was officially out of the way. On April 30, he committed suicide.This would be the end of Nazi Germany. Shortly after the death of Hitler the Germans would surrender to the western allies. The war was on its way to an end. -
End of the War
The war would officially come to an end on september 2, 1945. This is the date that Japan would finally give their formal surrender to the United States. The war had been fought long and hard but in the end the allied nations would come out on top. Not long after the war the United States would enter a cold war with the soviet union. These two nations would be the super powers of the world folloing World War II
