    The Tsar was a title that the highest Russian leader held (or the king). The system of government associated with Tsar is Tsarism or Communism. The word Tsar literally means "emperor." Nicholas II of Russia held three major titles, Tsar of Russia, Grand Prince of Finland and King of Poland. Nicholas reigned from 1894 to 1917 and during his rule he ran Russia straight into the ground.

    The main cause for the start of war was Russia and Japan were fighting over who was going to conquer the area of Greater Manchuria in Eastern Asia. Japan won, which proved them to be a much stronger and dominate power.

    Bloody Sunday was the mass muderings of hundreds of hundreds of innocent, peaceful protesters. The protesters were petitioning the Tsar and they were shot in public in St. Petersburg.

    Grigori Rasputin
    Grigori Rasputin wa sa Siberian peasant that influenced the Tsar and Tsarina. He gained power through the Tsarina and began to destroy the government. Rasputin was assasinated on December 29th, 1916 and the monarchy fell on March 15th, 1917.

    The russians exitedly entered world war one in 1914. but due to a series of losses the weakened army had to pull out in 1917 to deal with the Russian civil war back in Russia

    Abdication occurs when a monarch renounces his power and steps down. Tsar Nicholas II was abdicated on March 15th, 1917.

    Lenin was the leader of the Bolshevik Party. He came to power in 1917 and spearheaded the Bolshevik Revolution against the whites .

    Leon trotsky was the Commisioner of War in the new regime of the Bolshevik Party. He lead the Red Army against the whites after coming to power in 1917 at the begining of the Bolshevik Revolution.

    The Bolshevik Party known as the Reds came to power in 1917 in the Bolshevik Revolution. The two men to lead the party were V.I Lenin and Leon Trotsky. They would eventually become the leading party in the Soviet Union.

    fighting broke out between the Bolsheviks or the red army and the anti- Boleshik forces also known as the whites. in the end the reds won and the Bolsheviks took over Russia

    On March 8th, 1917, 10,000 women marched through Petrograd demanding peace and bread. This event led to a strike which shut down factories for one day on March 10th.

    A series of thesis written by Vladimir Lenin in which he told peasants to take land back from rich land holders and factory owners. He also took this oportunity to tell any members of the Bolshevik Party that anyone who supported the provisional goverment should leave the party.

    the revolution in october of 1917 were the red army fought against the whites that would eventually decide the country to be communist
  • Russia Provisional Government

    This makeshift government was created directly after Tsar Nicholas II was abdicated. This type of government was in use for eight months until November 1917. It replaced the Council of Ministers of Russian Empire.
