    -He was an anti-semitic during this time because he wanted one religion so he wanted everyone to be Catholic so any way to get another religion out of the picture is great
    -The Nobility would have liked him
    - He wanted to be the one ruler and have all of the power
    -He wanted to be one race
    *He is going to set the foundation for the bad reputation for the czar

    -He did not want any democratic ideas in his government
    -He created a constitutional Monarchy because he wanted the
    people to like him but that made people not like him as much
    - He ignored the industrial and urbanization problems that Russia was having
    -He goes to WW1 and get blamed for not doing good
    *He was hated because he wanted all of the power for himself, and he created the Duma to have people like him but that made more people not; He is the one in power when the revolution breaks out

    • This lead to the Bolshevik Revolution -The Czar had so much hate that it was the right decision for him to just step down -He does this after the loss of WW1's guilt was put on him *This lead to the government having to be in a time of change so they has to have a temporary Government

    • This was war between Russia and Japan over territory in Northern China -Japan had advantages in the war by having more troops and better Naval forces -A disadvantage of China was that it was not industrialized at this point

    -This was when 20,000 workers marched into the Czars winter palace because they did not like him
    -the Czar was not home so the government made the official decision to have their troops fire on the crowd
    - This gave the Czar had a worse reputation
    *The Russian people were even more mad at their Czar, so Czar decide to create the Duma

    • This was a change of government for Russia -This was a change from the absolute monarchy to a constitutional Monarchy -This was giving Czar Nicholas losing some power so that they society could have more of a say *Czar Nicholas created it to improve his rep after the Russo-Japanese and Bloody Sunday, but really people know that it was fake so they still did not like him

    -This was very minimal because they were not industrialized
    -They did have a pretty big army though because they were a big country
    - This lead to Russia having more problems with their government but started the industrialization process

    • He was a mystic person that gained a rep. as an exorcist and a healer -He was assassinated by nobility because they thought that he had lots of power and he could hurt their nation. -He needed to keep his only son very healthy because he needed him to take the Crown *the Czar is at war and Rasputin is in the hands of the government so this contributed to the czars bad rep, He was doing a horrible job putting his friends in the government this made people hate him and kill him

    -The Bolsheviks overthrow the Provisional Government in 1917 to create this, the Bolshevik Revolution
    -They redistributed farmland to peasant and they let the workers have the factories again after the Civil war destroy all of that
    -This is when the Lenin created the Cheka or secret police
    -They made a Peace Treaty with Germany to stop the riots
    *This lead to the Bolshevik winning the Civil War and changing the Government to the USSR, they also overthrow the Provisional Government

    -This was when the Red army was against the white army over communist ideas
    -The Red army were supporters of communist/socialist and the White Army were supporters of non-communist ideas
    -This is the time when the Romanovs were all killed
    -This ends the Bolshevik Revolution
    *The Red army won but it really just ruined their country because they killed a lot of the peasants, this lead to the USSR to be created and the Red Army having control over Russia

    -This was the Establishment that was a self-governing republics that discouraged Nationalism
    - During this time the communist party held all of the power
    - This was not true communism yet because they still had a government
    *This is when they got to their most communist point which is what the people wanted, These were the people from the Bolsheviks. Now the Bolsheviks have control and they don't have to fight anyone. This is very long last, for about 70 years.

    • He does not actually get to power he manipulates his way to power -He wanted all of the power, therefore by 1928 he is in full command of the Communist Party -In 1929 he will have Trotsky exiled to get rid of his ideas *He became the director of the Soviet Union, which shows his devotion to the communist party. He does this by getting rid of Trotsky and he turns USSR into a Dictatorship
  • Lenin's Death

    -He created the Cheka, which was the secret police that targeted enemies of the Bolsheviks
    -The Cheka was a time like the Reign of Terror that there were many people being killed for their ideas
    - He wants to promise peace when he comes back to power
    - He died of a stroke
    -He was the one that pulled out of the WW1
    * His death lead to competition over how will take his power, and it leaves an opening to Stalin to come to power.

    Leon Trotsky's Exile
    -He was the commander of the Red Army during the Civil War
    - The Red Army won the Civil War
    *Stalin wanted to take all of the power of the Communist party so he exiled Trotsky, this proves how powerful Stalin is that he can become the Dictator of the USSR
