Decembrist Revolt
On Decemer 26th 1825, 3000 men staged an uprising agaisnt Czar Nicholas l. The Russian Army led the 3000 soldiers. The name decembrist was because all of the soldiers were fighting in December. -
Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
Alexandra ll got rid of the serfdom and serfs. The serfs worked there whole life on the farm. When he emancipated serfdom the noble didn't like that becuase he lose his power. -
Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
Nicholas was the last czar of Russia. He took the throne in 1868 when his father died. Nicholas was a family guy but not a good ruler. He was forced to leave the throne. His family was assassinated. -
The Russo-Japanese War
Japan wanted Korea and but Japan didn't want to go to war with Russia. Japan tried making an offer to Russia, when Russia tried to take control of Russias warm water port Russia got mad. They went to war and Japan won. -
Bloody Sunday
A group of workers went to Winter Palace and killing and wounding hundreds. The mach was lead by Orthodox preist, Father George Gapon. -
The Revolution of 1905
It first started when people were attacked at the Winter Palace (Bloody Sunday). For months there was killings and assassinations. It ended in 1905. -
World War 1
Russia entered World War One with the biggest army at 1,400,000. Russia didn't have many supplies or food though. -
The March Revolution
It started out when Russians wanted a 50% raise so they could buy food, so they went on strike. People were locked out of work and the riots just kept getting worse. People started to get killed and thats how the March Revolution started. -
Czar Nicholas ll abdicates the Russian throne
Czar Nicholas ll was forced to give up all his power becuase everyone in Russia beilved he lacked the qualities of a leader, everyone in Russia was hungry and poor. He wasnted to spend mroe time with his family anyways. -
Alexander Kerensky becomes the leader of the provisional government
When Nicholas the 2nd's son, declined the throne, the provisional goverment had to come in and fix it. Alexander bacame the prime minister for the goverment. -
Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks capture the Winter Palace
In 1917 after Nicholas ll was forced to leave, the new goverment (Provisional Goverment) was in charge. The Bolshevik party leady by Vladimir Lenin began to take over the goverment buildings. The next day, the Winter Palace (the seat of the Provisional goverment) was captured. -
The Russian Civil War
The Bolsheivks had many enimes like Britian, America, and Frace. They were very upset that Russia dropped out of World War 1. The war was against the Reds against the Whites. -
Nicholas the ll and his family was executed
The Bolsheviks executed Nicholas ll and his family. They were put into a house and got told that there family was going to take a group picture. The Bolsheviks came out with mashine guns and assassinated him and his family. -
Vladimir Lenin dies and Josef Stalin becomes leader of the Soviet Union
Joseph Stalin was borrn on 1878 and died in 1953. Joseph stoped ruling in 1953. He began ruling in 1929. He grew up in poverty was intrested in politics. He first started by joining the Bolshieviks party. He worked his way up to becoming the leader. -
