    War Between Russia and Japan
    Russia had broke the land agreement between them and Japan. So Japan attacked Port Arthur, Manchuria in February. Much land was lost and Russian revolt was brewing.
  • Revoltion Petition

    Revoltion Petition
    Over 200,000 workers took a petition of better working conditions and brought it straight to the legislature. Sick and tired of all the protesting, the general ordered the sokdiers to fire upon the crowd. 1,000 were killed, hundreds were injured.
  • The Duma Meet

    The Duma Meet
    Russia's first parliament-the Duma- meet in May. They met with the intention of making Russia a constitutional monarchy like Britain. Czar did not want to share power, so group dissolved within weeks.
  • WWI

    WWI
    Nicholas II decided to bring Russia into the war. Russia could not handle expensive debts of war. As a result, they were defeated multiple times.
  • Textile Revolution

    Textile Revolution
    Women textile workers led strike for bad working conditions. As did before, the soldiers were ordered to fkre upon the crowd. After a while, they agreed with the protesters and ceased firing.
  • Fall of Government

    Fall of Government
    Factory workers had again become very angry with the managemt of government. They gained weaponry and decided to arrest government offices. Took over government as a result.
  • Bolshevicks In Power

    Bolshevicks In Power
    Lenin became ruler of Russia after the revolt. He ordered all farmland be distributed equally. Lenin also gave all contol of factories to workers.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    As a product of this new form of government, sides were conflicting as to what was best for Russia. Many thought that the rule of a Czar would be best. Others thought Russia was fine with the government it was currently under.
  • State Controlled Economy

    State Controlled Economy
    This gave many new rights to citizens of Russia. Example: in the past, farmers had to give their extra crops to the government. Now, they could sell those additional crops and make more money.
  • Reforms

    Reforms
    As a result of this new government, any reforms had to be put into place. The country was renamed USSR, in honor of the Bushevik Revolution
