The February Revolution was one of the first important events of the Russian revolution and it was caused by multiple different factors. The revolt happened very quickly and is thought to have no planning ahead of time. This was the date that the February Revolution officially ended. It was because of soldiers joining the rebels, and in about twenty four hours all of the soldiers in the Petrograd (modern day St. Petersburg) garrison had joined in the fighting in the February Revolution. The help of the soldiers ensured the rebels success. -

Nicholas the second, the czar, abdicates his throne. Most of the population of Russia, especially St Petersburg, disliked him since he sent the country into the World War 1, and ended up to be costly with very few things gained from joining the battle. Vladimir Lenin introduced the Soviet State’s ideas for foreign policy with his Decree on Peace. Lenin made sure to have a permanent end to the war. The Soviet ideas were extremely different from the previous Tsar’s ideas, and Lenin used this as an opportunity to spread his socialist ideals. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk

The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, a peace treaty at Brest-Litovsk between Russia and the central powers (Germany, Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria) is signed and takes Russia out of World War I. Even without the treaty, the treaty was basically non existent by the end of the year it gave the bolsheviks some relief because they were in the middle of the russian civil war. -

Causes of Civil War were challenges the the bolsheviks, some of Czechs prisoners were being taken across russia and being mutinied, and world opposition to world revolution. Nicholas II was the last emperor of Russia, great prince of Finland. he ruled from 1984 until he was killed in 1918. Under his rule, Russia was defeated in the Russo- Japanese war, including the almost total annihilation of the Russian fleet at the Battle of Tsushima. As head of state, he approved the Russian mobilization of August 1914.
