    Revolution of 1905/October Manifesto

Nicholas led to his own downfall with this move as he was found directly responsible for Russia's loss in the war, giving flame to anti-tsarist revolutions.

    The death of Grigori Rasputin was a lot like the man himself; shrouded in a lot mystery. The true affect that Rasputin had on the royal family was never fully realized. His death was also mysterious in the fact that different stories of this night have come out. It started with him eating poisoned treats (which he lived), and eventually led to him getting shot and thrown in the water. The newspaper's title properly sums up the story of the life and death of Rasputin.

    March 8, 1917: International Women's Day in Petrograd was the starting point of the Revolution of 1917. This protest was sparked by women who were fed up with the poor conditions they were subjected to under the Tsar. This protest also sparked further movements through 1917 which eventually led to the Tsar abdicating. Women's day acted as a catalyst for the Russian population to rise up against the regime and speak out, even though it was illegal.

    This comes as big news not just in Russia with the end of 300 years of Romanov rule, but to the world with a major political shift. This photo emphasizes the magnitude of the event, leading to a change in Russian and the foreign politics relating to Russia. A new government called the provisional government was formed in his place, which did not last too long with the return of Lenin. Nicholas II and his family was executed under Leninist rule as a show of power.

    The Provisional Government was seen as a successor for the Tsar. Led by Alexander Kerensky, the provisional government was a shift in Russia towards a more democratic system. With the country having pulled out of WWI, the Provisional Government was forced to secede a lot of land to the Germans. The provisional government would not last long, however, as the return of Lenin and radical ideals stole show, leading to him becoming the leader of Russia.

The significance of the officers was they were to eliminate, by use force and terror, any opposition. Since some of the people were standing and raising hands, it shows disagreement and why it was disbanded.
