a secret police group that kept anti revolutionary people quite, by any means necessary. They were formed in December of 1917. The Cheka were used to enforce the new communist rules made by the communist party. this included torture and many executions to anti revolutionaries. -

Lenin was the first leader of the communist party in Russia. -

Lenin banned Religion, burned churches and killed priests, made 8 hour work days a standard, and encouraged science and literature to be taught. -
