Start of Two Revolutions in Russia
The first of two revolutions that would crush the Romanov family started. Battle, along with gas and food shortages, brought the Romanov's down in St. Petersburg. A provisional government formed. -
Exiled
Lenin was still in exile in Switzerland. Him and his wife Krupskaya spoke abput revolutionary ideas. -
The Return
Lenin was returned from exile. He got off a train in Petrograd, met by tons of prisoners who had been exiled and released. -
Disastrous Offensive
The provisional government attaked Germany. There was more than 50,000 Russian casualties from battle against Austrian and German forces. -
The Second Revolution
Russians attacked the provisional government. Lenin's Bolsheviks took over and were now in control. -
Peace
Lenin's Bolsheviks sought peace with Germany. -
Treaty
The Brest-Litovsk was signed by Russia. They lost a lot of land/territory. -
Civil War
A civil war started between the Reds and the Whites. The war lasted 3 years, and the czar and his family were killed. -

Here Comes Help
Some more countries including Japan, U.S.A, and Britain came to help the Whites, since Reds were communists. It didnt help much though. -

The communists won the war, but Russia was having some...issues. Since the start of the World War 1, millions had died. Even more starved to death or got a disease. -
NEP
The NEP small businesses were allowed to open, but the state was still in control of banks, trading, and big industries. The government stopped pushing the peasants for grain. -
Doubts About Stalin
Lenin didn't feel comfortable about Stalin. He had doubts that Stalin didn't know how to handle all of that power. -
Constitution
The Communists mad a constitution. All citizens over 18 could vote. Peasants gained power of resources and prodution. This constitution was both socialist and democratic. -
Lenin's Body
At the time of his death, Lenin's body was placed on display in the Red Square in Moscow. Thousands of people came to see his body. Lenin is still on display in Moscow. -
FOOD!!!
Capitalism bought production of food back up like before war. Because of the NEP, living got better too. -
After Lenins Death...
When Lenin died, Trotsky, a Marxist thinker, fought for power, against Stalin. Stalin isolated Trotsky, so he fled the country. Trotsky was later murdered in Mexico.
