The First Fleet
Captain Arthur Phillip was the boss of the first fleet and he sailed from Portsmouth, England on the 13th May 1787. There were eleven other ships with him, There were 1500 people on those eleven ships, 722 convicts including 17 child convicts. His first stop was in 3rd of June 1787 at Tenerife in the Canary Islands and stayed there for a week and took supplies with them. Matthew Flinders
Mathew flinders was born in Lincolnshire, England and was born on the 16th of March 1774 and died on the 19th of July 1814, was married to Ann chapel and had a cat . Matthew flinders sailed on the Tom Thumb with captain Bligh and George bass. (his ship doctor)Matthew flinders was a chartmaker and a navigator, and he circumnavigated all of Australia! Edward Hargraves found the first grain of gold in 1851, New south wales. When he found the grain of gold he got the reward of 10,000 euros from the NSW government and 5,000 euros from the Victorian government. When he found the grain gold he changes the nation. Ned kelly
Ned Kelly was a bushranger and was born on June 1855 in beverage, Victoria and died at the gallows in Melbourne Gaol on the 11th March 1880.he lived for 25 years and parents were Ellen Kelly and John Kelly. Ned Kelly and his gang was a wanted gang for a long time. Ned Kelly rode on a horse, had armour and killed three police. Ned Kelly had five sisters, two half-sisters, two brothers and one half. When he was young he saved a boy from drowning and got a green silk sash for bravery. -
Australian Federation
The Australian federation started on the 1st January 1901 and it was when all of the states of Australia went to become one nation of Australian. In 1901 A.C.T. and the Northern Territory did not exist. N.S.W., VIC, QLD, SA and TAS became united and were known as the commonwealth of Australia. When the Commonwealth of Australia was declared on 1 January 1901, a ceremony was held in Centennial Park in Sydney.
