To sneak away Rory hides on top of the Carriage in the luggage area. She did that so she could find he way to Clifton, a town that depends on Mexicans. -
Rory enters the train that the foundlings are on as a stowaway, staying with bridget for about 3 days
She almost missed the train, but fortunately Bridget helped her get on the train. -
The foundlings arrive in Arizona where they are attacked
All the Anglos wanted children and couldn't understand that all the children were already spoken for. Then they got mad when they figured out the children were going to Mexican parents. -
The Anglos Women in Clifton did steal some of the white children - Actual Event
In that town a healthy Mexican woman had a 48% chance of losing her firstborn and a 28.5% chance of losing 2 or more. A healthy Anglo woman had a 24% chance of losing her firstborn and a 10.5% chance of losing 2 or more. -
The Anglos stole some children from the Mexicans
Instead of the sheriff finding Violet they got Rory in her place. -
The takings get out of hand - Actual Event
One foster father took out a gun to try to protect his new child from the Sheriff who was trying to take the child away. -
The Foundlings go back to New York
They went back to plead to the judges to help them get the children out of those Arizona homes. -
Foundling Church goes to judges - Actual Event
The judges refused to get the children out of Arizona because they said that the nuns were looking for homes for the children anyway so why take them away from those family's. The Foundling people lost the court case. -
Elena, Rory, Violet, and Ramon escape as a family to Mexico
The situation was getting out of hand so they all went to make a new life in Mexico for themselves. -
Red haired daughter - Actual Event
An eyewitness said that they saw 2 Mexican parents come back to the town years later with red haired daughter and Violet (a red haired young girl) was the only orphan not accounted for after the takings.
