    The Twelve Tables were the first formal codification of Roman laws and customs. The Twelve Tables was something that the Romans believed in and followed. It created structure throughout Rome since Romans had a fine line they had to follow. The Twelve Tables was a step towards success in Rome.

    Tiberius was a member of the nobiles who ruled Rome. He knew there was a problem and he wanted to fix it. He looked back at Rome's history to what had constituted the foundation of Rome's greatness. They sought to introduce land reform and other populist legislation in ancient Rome. They have been known for being founding fathers of both socialism and populism.

    Third Punic War - The Destruction of Carthage
    The Romans declared war once they knew that Carthaginians technically broke their peace treaty. This time, Carthage was not ready to fight. Rome was not going to stop until they conquered the land they wanted. They were able to dominate both the western and eastern halves of the Mediterranean. This was very impactful to the start of the Roman empire. The Romans were very happy with all their success and were ready to continue growing their empire.

    Caesar

    Caesar was now master of Rome and made himself consul and dictator. He used a lot of his power to help reform Rome. Caesar was able to conquer much-needed land and also initiated the end of the Roman Republic when he became dictator of the Roman Empire. Caesar was somebody that placed a large role in the Roman Empire.

    The Age of Augustus

    Augustus was a Roman statesman and military leader who eventually became the first emperor of the Roman Empire. If it wasn't for Augustus, the Roman empire would never have been so successful.

    The Five "Good Emperors"

    Throughout some of Rome's history, they had a ruling period that was named "The Five Good Emperors." These five consisted of Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antonius Pius, and Marcus Aurelius. All five of these emperors had their own unique way of running the Empire. They were named this since they were so successful throughout their ruling. These five men left a legacy behind in Rome. They left a peaceful Empire to continue to build.

    Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire and eventually received legal status in 313 C.E. This was important to the empire because now they could practice their religion openly, Christianity. Since this religion was becoming more popular, Rome started building more churches. Soon many emperors became Christian which helped in the decisions and success of Rome.
