Romulus and Remus were said to have created Rome from the village on 7 hills.The two brothers united the tribes into one kinship as well as allow any person into their settlement. It grew exponentially. At some point Romulus killed Remus and named the newly formed city in his name, Rome. -

Rome started out as a village on the Italian peninsula and was only a village on seven hills. Soon the Latins came into play, they brought in an alphabet from Greek colonists of whom they traded with. -

(M)Attack on Sabines
Rome and the people who lived there was composed entirely of men at the time. There was no women there at all. What they did was attack a nearby city and take the women thereto Rome. This allowed Rome to "jump start" population growth. -

With Etruscan rule weakened,the Romans rebelled and forced out the kings from power. -

Once the Etruscans were removed from government,the Romans moved from a monarchy to a republic. It was ran by the wealthy, the patricians. They now started conquering surrounding areas while another, more internal conflict was happening between the lower class plebeians and the upper class patricians. -

(R)Plebeian freedom
The poor and middle class of Rome,known as plebeians, felt left out of government since only the wealthy patricians could participate in government. They revolted and did get the freedom to vote,creating the office of tribune.By 440 BCE plebeians could marry patricians and in 366 BCE the first plebeian council was elected. -
91 BCE
(R)Sulla and civil wars
Starting in BCE 91, Rome went through its first civil war. The one who helped Rome get through that was Sulla. He also helped gain control of Italy and Athens and granted them Roman citizenship. In 82 BCE yet another civil war broke out. Sulla becomes a dictator and restores the senate in the aftermath but dies a few years later in 78 BCE. -
60 BCE
(R)Caesar the General
Beginning in the First Triumvirate, he was a good war leader. Conquering regions such as Gaul during the Gallic war which led to it becoming a province. Forum Julius Caesar begins and he as well campaigns in Africa, Asia Minor, Egypt, and even Spain in BCE 45. This put him in a high place of authority. -

(R)Julius Caesar the dictator
Julius Caesar defeats Pompey in a civil war and becomes the ruler of The Roman Empire.This will be the fall of Rome's Republic. -
44 BCE
(R)Julius Caesar assassinated
On the Ides of March Julius Caesar was murdered. The assassin was Marcus Brutus. The plan was to reunite the Republic but instead civil war broke out. -
36 BCE
(R)Octavion's success
Octavion starts in the second triunvriate. He successfully defeats Pompey and he dies. He then has victory against Mark Anthony and Cleopatra and the two commit suicide. In addition, Egypt becomes a Roman province. He finally becomes a consul. He later would take power. -

(R)Augustus ends an age in Roman history
Octavius becomes the fist emperor in Rome and in doing so renames himself Augustus which literally means "The first emperor" and began a new age of Roman leaders. -

Nero was adopted by his great uncle to be the heir and successor to Rome. He was emperor from 54 to 68, and at this time he set fire to Rome and put the blame on the Christians. -

The completion of the Colosseum was celebrated with 100 days ofgames. This was a high point in Rome's history because the Colosseum allowed the citizens to enjoy themselves greatly and made them like the emperor more. -

At this time Rome separates into two empires: the western and the Eastern. Each of the two empires had a different ruler and Rome was split by Theodosius. -
