The elctric guitar is invented by Adolph Rickenbacker. At the time, it was expensive and didn't work very well. After later improvements, this guitar would end up being the backbone to almost all of rock and roll. -

Race records are beginning to get prodeced by a record company called King Records. Race records are basically just records made and listened to by African-American. -

Maybelline
Chuck Berry's hit song, "Maybelline", was recorded on May 21, 1955 at Universal Studios in Chicago, Illinois. It was considered the first real rock and roll song, which makes him the "Father of Rock and Roll". -

Elvis Presley leaves Sun Record Studio to go to RCA because he would get more fame and money. Sun Record Studio is where he started his legendary career. -
The Beatles debut
A few people from the Quarrymen formed a band called The Beatles. They debuted at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. -
Surfin USA becomes a hit
Surfin USA, by The Beach Boys, becomes a hit and makes the top 10 on the Billboard charts many weeks in a row. They derived the song from Chuck Berry's song, Sweet Little Sixteen. Berry later sued for not crediting him. -
The Rolling Stones arrive
The Rolling Stones arrive in the U.S. to kick off a tour in North America that will inspire many other young rock and rolllers. They went on to be one of the best rock and roll bands ever. -
The Beatles are more popular than Jesus
John Lennon from the Beatles declares the Beatles are more popular than Jesus. This caused many Beatles' fans to dislike the Beatles and even burn their discs. This definitely hurt there reputation. -
Led Zeppelin is
Led Zeppelin was a British band that was signed by Atlantic Records. They ended up being one of the most popular rock and roll bands ever. -
Paul McCartney leaves
Paul McCartney decides he is going to leave the Beatles. He started writing and singing by himself after that. -
Jimi Hendrix dies
Jimi Hendrix is found dead in a hotel at the age of 27 and no one know why. He was one of the greatest rock and roll singers to ever live.
