Triple Entente
The Triple Entente were between the countries Britain, Russia and France to counterbalance the growing strength of the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy and their empires. Britain, Russia and Grance made an alliance not to attack eachother and to prevent Germany from taking over any other states. Even though they tried to balance power, this did not prevent WWI. -
League of Nations (LON)
The purpose of the League of Nations was to prevent future world wars. 63 countries got involved with the Leage of Nations including, Argentina, Australia, and Belgium. The U.S didn't want to be a part of LON and Germany wasn't allowed as a punshiment for the Versaille Treaty. -
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
OPEC's job is to unify and coordinate petroleum policies among Member Countries, in order to secure fair prices for petroleum producers and to ensure a regular supply of petroleum to consuming states. -
Palestine Liberation Organization
The PLO was created in 1964 during a Palestinian Congress meeting in an effort to give a voice to the large number of Palestinians living in refugee camps in Lebanon. PLO wanted to push for a Palestine independent state. PLO wanted complelte distruction of Israel. Egypt, Syria, Iran, Jordan, Iraq were all involved in PLO and supported their choices. -
European Union (EU)
The European union is a society in which people came together in order to keep peace within their nations. The Union was officially founded in 1935 by 5 countries. Germany, France, Italy, Romania, and Sweden. The EU wanted to eliminate certain tariffs between trading partners
