    The national social justice uprisings during the summer of 2020 included a focus on Confederate Monuments, including the REL statue in Richmond, VA. Graffiti on the south east panel of the monument reflect anarchist language, including 'ACABBQ'; reflecting the anarchist phrase 'All Cops are Bastards' and modifying it with a BBQ symbol for a pig roast. Also on this panel of the statue is a rainbow Black Lives Matter (BLM) paste-up, showing queer support for BLM.
