With the 18th Ammendment ratified in 1919, banning the manufacture and selling of "intoxicable liquors" of more than 0.5% of liquor. Which led the liquor bissiness underground by Gangster, Al Capone. -
The "New Woman"
This is the beggining of the Era where the symbol of The Roaring Twenties, would be the Flapper, a young woman with bobbed hair, had short skirts, drank and said "unladylike" things and was more sexually free than most generations. -
The Birth Of Mass Culture
During this time the Roaring Twenties were in full swing, and more invientions were being brought to the table, and household chores were getting easier for women. Leading up to the most important invention, the Automobile, invented by Henry Ford. -
"Scopes Monkey Trial"
A LAx was passed in Tennesse to stop the teaching of Biologist Darwin Charles theory of evolution due to religious reasons. John T. Scopes, a substitute teacher was cited for teaching evolution as a fact in his Biology class. Which then started "The Trial of The Century". He was fopund Guilty and fined $100. -
The Jazz Age
After the invention of cars, people had a way to go anywhere they wanted and to do whatever they wanted. In New York what many of the young people did was dance,and so they would listen to Jazz. In Chicago radio stations sold records which led the introduction to the rest of the United States. -
Stock Market Crash
The New York Stock Exchange crashes as stock prices fell drastically. This was followed by the failure of many banks, and many business failures as investots lost a lot money and people bought less. Unemployment rates got higher. This marks the beginning of The Great Depresion.
