THE SUGAR ACT
The sugarv act was used to raise money by taxing sugar and molasses. This effected the American colonist because they would have to pay more on sugar and molasses. -
THE STAMP ACT
The Stamp Act taxed all paper products. That would include newspaper, licenses, diplomas, and contract. That would make colonist pay a lot more to use paper. -
REPEALING THE STAMP ACT
Delegates from nine colonies meet in New York to discuss the Stamp Act. They issued that the Stamp Act should be repealed and taken away. -
TOWNSHEND ACTS
They placed duties or taxes on glass, lead, paints, and tea. To enforce these acts British officials used writs of assitance. These also made sure that the people did not smuggle any goods -
THE BOSTON MASSACRE
British soliders fire into a crowd of colonist that were protesting and end up killing five men. Colonist protest and bring the soliders into trial. -
TEA ACT
This act atea directly to the allowed the British East India Company to sell tea directly to the colonist. This tea was cheaper thann the colonial merchants' and so they were afraid that this new company would put them out of buisness. -
BOSTON TEA PARTY
Colonist sneaked onto the three British East India Company tea ships and dumped all 340 tea chest into the Boston Harbor. -
COERCIVE ACTS
This act was also called the "Intolerable Act". This was a series of acts including the "Quatering Act" which required the colonist to house the British solider, and the "Boston Port Act" which was when the Boston Harbor was closed until Boston paid for the tea ruined. This built colonist resentment toward the British. -
INTOLERABLE ACTS
Then, "Administration of Justice Acts" which was when the royal officials were accused of crimes were sent to Britain for trial, and "Massachuttes Governing Act" which was when Massachustts charter (their form of government) was cancelled and "Quebec Act" which gave a lot of land to the colony of Quebec.
