French & Indian War
French and English settlers wanted to colonize arround the Ohio River Valley. The war began with a fight over the territory arround the Ohio River Valley. It ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763 -
Sugar Act
The Sugar Act was an indirect tax added to the cost of products such as sugar and wine. It was created to reduce the smuggling rate of sugar and other pruducts. The colonists were furious that they had to pay extra money. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was adirect tax paid separate from an item, It was created to pay off the war debt. -
Townshend Act
The Townshend Acts were created to raise revenue in the colonies.Taxes were made on new products such as glass and paint. The acts were unacceptable to Americans and the acts were repealed after 4 years. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was the killing of 5 American colonists by British soldiers. No one really knows who started the fight between the Americans and British. -
Boston Tea Party
The tax on tea had the colonists furious. As a responce they dumped crates of tea into the boston harbor. They dumpped millions of dollars worth of tea into the harbor. -
The Declaration of Independance
The Declaration of Independance was a signed document that brought the 13 colonies under 1 power. They decided that instead of being independant that they would unite and be stonger as one.
