I give it 10, because philosophers of this time had a storng influence on the people and encouraged the break from England. -

Also referred to as the <i>Seven Years War</i>, it was fought primarily between British America and New France with backing from military units from their home countries. It started over a dispute over control of the Forks of Ohio and present day Pittsburgh.
I give this a 1, because it really didn't have a lot to do with the Americans revolting because they fought with the English. -

Colonists were prohibited from settling past the Appalachian Mountains.
I give this a 3, because it caused more a rift between the English and French, instend of the British Americans and English. -

A tax imposed on the British on all printed documents in America.
I give this an 8 because it was boycotted and lead closer to them actually rebelling and being fed up with Britian. -
Boston Massacre
Boston Massacre
Colonial Protesters clashed with the British troops in Boston. It resulted in the death of 5 colonists, but was protrayed as much more in the media.
I give this a 9, because it was used as propaganda that gave the revolution momentum. -
Tea Act

I give this an 8. Like the Stamp Act, it drove the colonist closer to an actual revolution with a smaller rebellion, the Boston Tea Party. -

A group of rebels called the Sons of Liberty dressed up like Mohawk Indians and dumped tea into Boston Harbor in protest of the tea tax.
I give this an 8 also. It was one of the many small rebellions that lead the the big revolution. -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable Acts Four rulings made in response to the Boston tea party to try and reverse the trend of resistance and rebellion in the colonies.
I give this a 7, because it was showing that the British were not going to take this lying down. -
First Continental Congress
The First Continential Congress A response to the Intolerable Acts. Delagates from 12 of the colonies dedcided to write a letter to King George and ask him to repeal the Acts in Boston, which he did not.
I give this an 8 because Britian and America are both unwilling compromise drawing closer to a bigger problem, the Revolution. -
Lexington and Concord
Lexington and Concord
British troops thought weapons were being stockpiled in Concord. On the way there, they were confronted by farmers and militia. The British troops defeated the colonials at Lexington and Concord.
I give this a 10, because it starts to show even more tension between the British and Americans. -
Second Contiental Congress

Delegates met once again to discuss the issue of independence. They were split 50/50 until Thomas Paine wrote <i>Common Sense</i> that swayed a lot of the votes.
I give this a 10 becasue it pressed the issue of independence and was when a committee was actual set up to write the declaration. -
Delaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence A document was written up stating America's writes and independence as a country with ideas from philosophers Locke and Rousseau.
I give this a 10, because it is what final states or declare America's independence from Britian.
