    This was signed by King John of England and the barrons at a meadown in Runnymeade in Egham, Surrey, South England. This act freed the church from governmental interferece, protected citizens from excessive taxes, and gave citizens equality before law.

    This document was signed by Charles I. It gave restriction from non-parliamentary taxation, forced billeting of soldiers, imprisonment without cause, and restricts the use of martial law.

This gave the people freedom from royal interference with the law, freedom to petition the monarch, freedom from taxation by royal perogative, freedom for protesants to bear arms, freedom to elect members of parliament, and freedom of speech

    The Albany plan of Union was written by Benjamin Franklin. It was proposed because Benjamin wanted to create a unified government between the thirteen colonies, it failed because all of the colonies were already doing there own thing.

    Because of all of the wars it put Great Britian in debt. The Britian colonists fought each other and King George began taxing the colonists without representation.

    Colonists believed that the Stamp Act was created to make money. They taxed all pieces of paper that were printed like license, legal documents, ship papers, and playing cards.

    Boston Massacre VideoFive colonist were killed and two of them were wounded. Whatled to the boston massacre was that parliament passed the Townshend Acts which imposed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea imported into the colonies.
  • Boston Tea Party

    An American polotical group organized this event. The British reaction to this event was the passing of the Intolerable Acts of 1774, which closed the Boston ports.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    These acts were passed because King George III ordered three shiploads of tea and demanded a new tea tax and dumped it in Boston. The British officials closed all Boston ports until the colonist paid for the tea, they restricted the coonist from having town meetings, and had british troops invade the homes of the colonist.
  • First Continental Congress

    Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Sam Adams, John Adams, and LAMAS met in Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia where they established the course of the congress.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Paul Revere rode to Concord to warn them that the "British are coming!' Colonel Smith, Major Pitcaime, and Lord Perry commaned the troops in this war. Militia was commanded by Barrett, Buttrick, and Robinson. At least 250 redcoats were killed and 90 soldier on the opposing side were wounded.

    Peyton Randolph, Charles Thomson, Benjamin Frankilin, John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Milton met in Carpenters Hall in Philedelphia State House to propose the Olive Branck Petition, which was officially parted from Britian. So they would wait until July to vote and George Washington would be commander in chief.

John Adams was the leader pushing for independence and for Thomas Jefferson to draft the Declaration. This Declaration justified the independence of the United States and showed the colonial greivences of King George III.

    This article respresents the first constitutional agreement made between the 13 American states. Congress entrusted John Dickinson to draft a federal constutution. It was submitted to the Second Continental Congress on July 12th 1776. There were 3 main points under this article
    1. The appoitment of taxes to the population
    2. each state was granted 1 vote
    3. the federal government had the right to dispose of land in the West

    Also known as the Philadelphia Convention it took place from May 25th to September 12th, 1787. It addressed the problems of the United States Government which was under the Articles of Confederation following the independence for Great Britain
