These acts where created as a punishment to the colonies for "The Boston Tea Party." There were five acts - The Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act, the Quartering act, and the Quebec Act. These acts were unfair and lead to the idea of independence. -

Thomas Paine's point of writing this was to convince the colonists that they should break away from British rule. It convinced many unsure people to make the right decision. -
