King George III takes power
King George developed a negative relationship with the colonies and continued to fuel their fire of rebellion by imposing Acts to supress their rights, which eventually led to the Boston tea party and the war. -
Stamp Act
a. Items that were taxed were printed materials such as newspapers, magazines, and legal documents.
b. It was met with colonial resistance, and petitions and sometimes violent protest by the colonists and Sons of Liberty. -
Boston Massacre
a. There were 5 colonist killed in the Boston Massacre.
b. The Stamp Act and the Townshed Acts led to the Boston Massacre as tension was increasing over taxation. -

a. The conflicts started the shooting war between Britain and the colonies. They are the first battles of the Revolution.
