  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The treaty of Paris ended the revolutionary war between Great Britain and The United States. Five men were selected to create the treaty.
  • The Proclamation Act

    The Proclamation Act
    This made it so that no one could settle on the other side of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    On April 5, 1764 parliament put The Sugar Act into effect which would tax the non-british sugar and molasses. Non- british sugar and molasses was taxed so much that it was not affordable for most.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Passed by British Parliament, this act taxed every single piece of paper that the colonists used.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The quartering act made it so that if a British soldier needed food, water, and even housing a family could not refuse. Also says that locals had to feed all the British soldiers in the area if needed.

    The Stamp Act Congress was the first taxation on the colonists on all paper products. Parliament put this act into action to get money from the years that they were at war.

    This was a group of men that were standing up to the British Parliament.

    The Intolerable Acts
    Passed on march 24th, 1774 the intolerable acts were meant to keep the colonists in line. Although it was passed in March: it did not become effective until June 2nd of 1774.

    1st Continental Congress

    Taking place in Carpenter's Hall which is located in Philadelphia, twelve of the thirteen colonies got together. They met there to talk about how to get rid of the intolerable acts.
  • Declaration of Rights and Grievances

    Declaration of Rights and Grievances
    Written by the Stamp Act Congress and passed on October 14, 1774. The Declaration of Rights and Grievances explains that the taxes on the colonists was not fair and did not have their consent.

    These battles were fought in Lexington and Concord, this showed Great Britain that its thirteen colonies wanted nothing to do with them anymore.

    This is where the British defeated the Americans early in the American revolutionary war. Even though the Americans lost that battle they killed many of the British.
