Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a tax on all the British colonies. They taxed all paper goods and it was bad because paper was like our iPhone today. -
Stamp Act Congress
The Stamp Act Congress was a gathering of elected representatives to go and oppose British Taxation and not have the Stamp of Sugar Acts. -
Boston Massacre
Started by passing the Townshend act which taxed galls, white lead, paper, paint, and TEA. The colonists are upset and they refused taxation without representation. A fight broke out between colonists and British troops they threw snowballs escalated to rocks then the British supposedly shouted fire and shot colonists. -
Boston Tea Party
The British thought they could be smart and sneak 17 million pounds of tea. So the colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
Laws that the British imposed after the Boston Tea Party on the colonists. They closed the harbor until all the damages were payed for by the colonists. -
First Continental Congress
Colonies get together to talk about what the British are doing. They draw out the declaration of rights. Most significant thing was a non importation non exportation and non consumption to boycott all British goods. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
At the Battle of Concord the American Militia killed many British Red Coats and at the Battle of Lexington British Red Coats killed many American Militia troops. -
Declaration of Independence
It's America's Birth Certificate. A sacred document for Americans. It gives the reason the country was created and the hopes, ideas and beliefs that Americans have for their country.
