Proclamation Act
There was a worry regarding the cost of defending colonies. George III prohibited settlements west of the Appalachian Mountains without any guarantee there would be security from local Native Americans. -
Sugar Act
This act allows Nova Scotia to hear about the smuggling cases without a jury present and no presumation of guilt. Spreading Protestors are a result of this event. -

The Parliment says they have the right to tax the colonies and they finalize the Stamp Act Repeal. -
Townshend Act
Taxes on glass, tea, lead, and paper used to pay for the colonial administration. This act is named after Charles Townshend. -
Boston Massacre
A wild crowd harassed soldiers because they were very upset wth the colonial policy. Snowballs were thrown, some soliders were knocked down and 5 people ended up being killed over a riot. -
Tea Act
In support for East India Company, parliment did away with tea from imports and allowed tea to be directly sent to colonies. -
Boston Tea Party
Patriots were angered with tea acts. On December 16, Patriots disguised as Mohawk Indians and dumped tea into the Boston Harbor -
Coercive Act
MAY-JUNE 1774
4 measures stripped Massachusetts of government and independance after the Boston Tea Party. Colonies boycotted British goods as a response.
