Treaty of Paris
This treaty ended the Seven Year's War between France and Great Britain. -

The Stamp Act Repealed
This is when the Stamp Act was finally repealed by Parliament after four months of endless protest. -
The Declaratory Act
This act was put in place of the Stamp Act. It was meant to reduce boycotts and opposition from the colonists. -
The Townshend Acts
This was a series of laws passed by the British, specifically concerning certain goods imported to the colonies. Some included were glass, tea, lead, paper, and paint. -
The Boston Massacre
This was an event where British soldiers shot their rifles into a crowd. The scene was started by a snowball fight. -
The Committees of Correspondence
This was how the colonies communicated among one another before the war finally began. There were a few committees created earlier, but 1773 was when all colonies began to participate. -
The Tea Act
This was an act passed to help the East India Company sell tea to the colonies, and it eventually led to the Boston Tea Party. -
The Boston Tea Party
This was an event where colonists boarded ships in Boston Harbor and threw 342 chests of tea into the ocean as a protest. -
The Intolerable Acts
Consisting of many different acts and policies, the Intolerable Acts especially angered the colonists. This was considered a punishment for the Boston Tea Party. -
First Continental Congress
This was a meeting between 12 of the 13 colonies at the beginning of the Revolution. They discussed their response to the Intolerable Acts. -
The Battles of Lexington and Concord
These battles were what finally set off Revolutionary War between Great Britain and the colonies. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
This happened in Massachusetts, and the British defeated the Americans in a brutal battle. Although America lost, their opponents suffered many casualties, so they saw this as a positive. -
The Olive Branch Petition
This was written to the king in Great Britain as an attempt to ask for rights while still being loyal. -
Common Sense Pamphlet Published
This pamphlet was written by Thomas Paine, and convinced many colonists that they should have their independence. -
The Declaration of Independence
This document declared America's independence from Great Britain. It was not signed until about a month later, but the principals were officially adopted at this time.
