The Stamp Act said that all American Colonists had to pay taxes on every piece of printed paper they used. This helped cause the American Revolution because the Americans didn't like that the British didn't have to pay taxes like they did. -
Townshend Acts
The Townshend Acts were put in place over the thirteen colonies to show them that England had control and authority over them. This helped lead to the American Revolution because the colonists didn't like that they had to pay taxes but England didn't. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was when British regulars killed English Colonists to enforce the King's rules. This helped lead to the American Revolution because it gave the Colonists a reason to fight back against the British. -

The Tea Act was when the East India Company sent 18 million pounds of tea to the American Colonies. This helped cause the American Revolution because this eventually led to the Boston Tea Party. -

THe Boston Tea Party was when a group of Massachussets colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians went onto three British ships and dumped chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. This helped cause the American Revolution because it angered the British and showed them that the colonists did not like them. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were passed to punish Colonists for the Boston Tea Party. This helped lead to the American Revolution because the American Colonists didn't like that they had to pay for the tea that they had dumped into the Boston Harbor. -

The battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements in the American Revolution. This helped cause the Revolutionary War because these were the first battles. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence gave the American Colonies their freedom from England and made us our own country. This was during the Revolutionary War, but it helped us gain confidence to beat the British.
