The start of the French and Indian war was the rear 1754 and ended in 1763. The war was fought by the French, who were helped by the Native Americans, and the British colonies, with help from the American colonies. -

In the end the Colonists won the war with help from Great Britain. -
Proclamation of 1763
In 1763, King George III issued a Proclamation. This effected the colonists because now they could not buy land, make arrangements with Native Americans for land, traders that wished to travel had to be approved by British Parliament, and anyone that moved west had to move back to east. -
Sugar Act
The sugar Act was enacted to raise tariffs on the goods that were imported. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act now meant that almost anything had to be stamped. To get the stamps there was more taxes to pay. -
Quartering Act
On top of paying harsh taxes the Government forced the colonists to open up their homes and welcome and feed British troops. -
Boston Massacre
In 1770 the colonists started to get angry and peacfully protested. The British troops saw this as violent and open fired on the crowd and ended up killing 5 of the colonists. -
Tea Act
Since there was such harsh taxes on tea the colonists started to smuggle tea, the Tea Act forced them to stop smuggling tea and start paying the taxes. -
Boston Tea Party
When the Tea Act was passed this meant Colonial merchants could no longer sell tea. The British East India Company had to sell directly to the colonists which meant more taxes. The Sons of Liberty were angry about this so they dressed up as Mohawk Native Americans and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
The king had some of his power taken away and gave that power to others.
