The british won but it led to war dept.The colonists did not like all of the taxes and they got very mad. -
proclomation 1763
Banned all colonists from settling in the appalacian mountains.The colonists thought they had a right to live where they please.Widely ignored because the british could not enforce. -
sugar act
Put a tax on sugar and malasis and other things.The colonists thought this was tyranny.They started to boycott British goods. -
quartering act
Colonists were required to house and feed the british soldeirs .They thought their rights had been violated and some refused to let them stay. -
stamp act
There was taxes on documents,contracts,newspaper and even playingcards.they demanded the tax to be repaeled.Their reaction was to burn papers. -
townshend act
This was a tax on imports including lead, tea, glass and other products. The colonists thought that this was still a tax and thier rights were being violated. The colonists solution to this was to smuggle goods into colonies. -
boston massacre
The boston massacre was where a mob of patriots fought against a groupe of british soldiers. The colinists thought of this as the a massacre even though the british soldiers only killed 5 men. In response colinists started to form an army. -
Tea act
The tea act was tax on tea. Merchants and consumers were upset beacuse this was still a tax. Their reaction to this was to dumb tea into the boston harbor. -
boston tea party
It was caused by the tea act in 1773. The sons of liberty went on a boat in the boston harbor and dumped all the tea in the harbor. -
Coersive/Intolorible act
This closed off the port of Boston after the Boston tea party. The British did this until the colonists paid them 1 million dollars in todays money and of coarse they never paid them. -
First Continental Congress
This was a meeting of all the colonies (exept Georgia) to discuss what to do in responses to british taxation and other acts. -
Paul Reveres midnight ride
Paul Revere rode his horse from Boston all the way to Lexington and Concord yelling ''the regulars are coming'' and he was also the man who made the engraving of the Boston Massacre. -
Lexington & Concord
77 minute men waiting for British soldiers to arive. In this event 8 farmers were killed. This was the begining of th e Revolutionary war!
