End of French and Indian War

The Proclamation of 1763

Sugar Act
This act taxed on sugar, molasses and other things. It also included harsh punishments for smugglers. The colonists boycotted British and sent a petition to England. Stamp Act
This act forced the colonists to buys stamps for documents such as wills, contracts, newspapers, and even playing cards. The colonists burned stamped paper and created the Stammp Act Congress. Quartering Act

Townshend Act

Boston Massacre
In the Boston Massacre, 5 men were shot and killed by British soldiers. The colonists angred the British because they had lost their jobs and blamed the British. Tea Act

Boston Tea Party

Coercive/ Intolerable Acts
In this act the British closed the port of Boston until the colonists paid for the tea. All of the trials that were held in the colonies, were moved to Britain. Also, the Brtitish banned the New England Town Meetings and stregthened the Quartering Act. Paul Revere's Ride
Paul Revere, Billy Dawes and Sam Prescott ride to Concord to warn the colonists that the British will attack in the morning. Paul and Billy got caught by the British just outside of Lexington. However, Sam made it through to Concord and warned the colonists that the British were going to march on Concord in search for weapons. Lexington and Concord
In this time 60 colonists,mostly farmers, faced off against 100's of British soldiers at Lexington. The British was the strongest army and had never lost.
