    The Great Awakening, a time of spiritual renewal, was created from the religious and political groups fighting. The Great Awakening was impactful because it prepared America for its War of Independence.
  • French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War was a war that lasted 7 years, and it was caused by a conflict between England and France over control of the Ohio River Valley. It expanded Britain's territorial gains, but they were stuck in a lot of debt.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    The Albany Plan of Union was a plan to create a unified government for the 13 colonies, and it was caused by imperial officials wanting a treaty between the colonies and the Iroquois. This was the first important proposal to conceive of the colonies as a collective whole united under one government.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Pontiac's Rebellion was a rebellion that was held against the British after they expanded their military presence in the Great Lakes area. The impact of this was it showed how diverse tribes can come together to form an effective coalition against British forces.
  • Proclamation Line of 1763

    The Proclamation Line of 1763 forbade all settlement west of a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. This was mainly caused by Chief Pontiac's violent aggression with settling. This affected Anglo-American colonists from settling on lands acquired for the French.

    The Boston Tea Party was a form of protest where the colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. The colonists were protesting about how tea had a tax on them. The impact of this event was the shutting down of the Boston Harbor until all the tea had been paid for.

    The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from each of the colonies. It was held to discuss their reactions to the Coercive Acts. They agreed to boycott British goods.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was a peace treaty between the US and Britain that ended the American Revolutionary War, and it was signed because the British crown recognized America's independence. The impact it had was the French giving up their territory in mainland North America, and it ended any foreign military threat to the British colonies.
