Proclamation 1763
The Proclamation occurred October 7th, 1763. It was issued by King George after Great Britain gained French territory in North America after the end of the French and Indian War. It stated that Americans could not settle or buy land west of the Appalachian Mountains.This made the colonists angry but made the native Americans relieved. -

The Stamp Act of 1765
The Stamp Act allowed the British to tax any paper. So that means people had to pay a tax on every piece of paper. It made people mad that they had to pay a tax to do anything with paper and the colonists couldn't complain because they didn't have any representation in British courts. -
The Townshend act of 1767
The Townshend act was a group of British laws passed on the American colonies. They placed new tax laws and took away some peoples freedom. Set up new courts in America to prosecute smugglers so they wont have to see a local jury -
The Boston massacre 1770
The Boston massacre started when a argument broke out between British Private Hugh White and a few colonists outside the Custom House in Boston on King Street. The fight escalated quickly and soon there were over 50 colonists throwing sticks and snowballs at private White. It ended with 13 people being arrested all being charged with murder. -
The Committees of Correspondence
These were groups formed in colonial America. These groups were created due to their reaction to unfair treatment of the colonists by the British. The focus of the committees was to provide leadership and cooperation among the colonies. The committees played a major role in unifying the colonies and in organizing the First Continental Congress in 1774. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston tea party was a protest by the American colonists against the British government. They raided three trade ships and started dumping out the tea. They tried to dress as Mohawk Indians but they didn't trick anyone the British knew who dumped out the tea. They threw off 342 crates of tea off the boats.
