The reason of why they were doing that was because taxes were added to trading, and the people were not happy with the thought of having to pay taxes. Since people were not satisfied with having to pay taxes, they decided to start smuggling. They also started to protest and boycott. The writs of assistance was significant for it to end smuggling.

    The grenville act was passed as a punish the colony of Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea party, it was a way of mercantilism. The colonists were obviously not happy with that so their response was to start smuggling, started big protests, and said " No Taxation Without Representation".
    The colonists said this because they thought they shouldn't be taxed if they were not going to be represented the right way. The grenville act was significant to extend the navigation acts

The people were not happy with this act because they thought it was unfair and not the right thing to do since they were being forced to have someone stay at their house without permission. The quartering act was significant because it helped feeding and taking care of the soldiers who probably needed somewhere to stay.

The declaratory act was significant because the british declared they could tax anyone whenever they wanted.

The result of the colonists response was to create the first continental congress, this was the colonists last straw and what made them start to decide if they should become their own nation or not. The intolerable acts were significant because it is what started the thought of becoming our own nation/ country
