Native Americans were mad that the British won the war, as the French were much kinder and traded with them. The Native Americans started attacking, and due to the fact that the British didn't have enough money to protect the colonists, they created a diplomatic solution; There was to be a line separating the colonists and the Native American land. -
Sugar Act
Because of the immense debt of the British, they levied a tax on
molasses, wine, and coffee, as well as imposing the writs of assistance, which allowed officials to seize any cargo without a legal reason. This also increased corruption with the officials. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was a stamp that demanded all printed material, such as legal documents, pamphlets, playing cards, and dice be taxed. Because this directly impacted the rich people, because they were the ones that were literate, they decided to use their power and resources to aide the new coming rebellion. -
Quartering Act
Britain made the colonists supply living quarters, bedding, food, and assortments of alcohol. -
Virginia Resolves
Because the people who served in the Virginia House of Burgesses were predominately wealthy individuals, they were affected by the stamp act. They decided to pass the Virginia Resolved, which denied the right for Parliament to tax the colonists through the stamp act. -

The congress of the colonies sent a petition to England about tax. This caused protests, refusal to pay taxes, and sometimes attacks on tax collectors. -

Townshend Acts
Because Britain started taxing lead, cotton, glass, paint, and tea, it lead the colonists to boycott. A group called the Daughters of Liberty started making homespun goods, so that colonists didn't need to buy material from England. These rebellions led Britain to send more troupes, which increased tension. -
Boston Massacre
A British soldier was walking home, when colonists started threatening. More British soldiers joined him, and one shot was originally fired. There was a print by Paul Revere of the Boston Massacre, but is known as a propaganda, as the print showed the colonists as innocence and Redcoats as murderers. -
Tea Act
Gave monopoly for BEICT in tea sales in American colonies. Unfair advantage at expense of colonial trade -
Boston Port Act
Due to the protest, the British government shut down the harbor, and forced the colonists to pay for the lost revenue. -
Quebec Act
This was an act to extend land into Quebec, maintaining the Roman Catholic faith, and French language. -
Massachusetts Government Act
England closed the colonial assembly, and put English picked governor in its place. The colonists felt that they didn't have any power in the government.
