    The delegates that attended were some of the greatest leaders in the colonies. The delegates chose John Hancock as the president of the Second Continental Congress. Congress created Continental Army led by George Washington. They set up a post office, Franklin in charge. The delegates sent a petition to George III asking for peace. The king declined and prepared for war.
